Zoo director K Kamala transferred

MYSURU: The government transferred 13 IFS officers, including Mysuru Zoo director K Kamala, in the state on Thursday,

The 2009-batch officer, being the first women director of the zoo, had planned a series of events at the zoo which is celebrating 125th anniversary.
Karnataka chief Mallige Veersh had fallen out with each other over administrative matters. The IFS officer was also criticized by some legislators, including JD(S) MLC Sandesh Nagaraju, over the handling of avian flu in January. The zoo was closed for a month as per the directive of the experts, leading to protests by stakeholders in the tourism sector. The closure had also led to a heated debate in the legislative assembly. She is transferred within a year of her appointment in July 2016.

Vasantha Reddy, a 2008-batch officer, has been posted as the new director of the zoo.

The government has posted S S Lingaraja as the chief conservator of forests of Kodagu Circle transferring Manoj Kumar. It has downgraded the post of the director of Biligiri Ranga Tiger reserve in Chamarajanagar and posted DCF P Shankara as its new director. K T Hanumanthappa has been posted as DCF (Mysuru divn) by transferring V Karikalan.
