Sports boys shine in SSLC exams too!

Mysuru: Top ranked tennis player in state Eshwar Shashidhar of Marimallappa School and S Nishanth of Sadvidya School who represented Karnataka in the national inter school cricket tournament and successfully captained his team by winning the Tiger Cup Inter High School Cricket Tournament have proven that they are not only good at sports but also brilliant in their studies.

Eshwar Shashidhar took part in the national inter school tennis tournament which was held in Mysuru recently. He is also top ranked U-16 tennis player in the state. Eshwar, despite being busy in taking part in various state and national tennis tournaments has managed to score 575 marks (92 percent) in SSLC. Speaking to Newskarnataka, Eshwar said “Though I was busy taking part in various tournaments including national level inter school competitions, I dedicated last two months for studies which enabled me to score 92 percent. Sports enable us to take up things in a better way and it also helps us to tackle things in a stronger manner”, added Eshwar who is now geared up to go all out in tennis and represent higher levels in days to come. He has decided to focus more on tennis in future.

S Nishanth, the dashing batsman from Mysuru too did well by scoring 555 marks (88 percent). Nishanth really had a good year (2016-17). Under his captaincy, he not only managed to win Tiger Cup for his school but also won the best batsman award. He represented Karnataka in the national inter school cricket tournament and Mysuru zone in U-16 team.

Out of the 110 students who appeared for the exam, 87 have secured distinction while the rest first class. Rohit Raj, Ashay Jain C A and Mithun M scored 613 marks (98. 08 percent) each. Among the 110 students, four of them scored centum in science, three each in Sanskrit, III Lang Kannada and Math while two students scored centum in social science.
