Mysuru: Chief minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said that he will file his nomination paper to contest from Chamundeshwari segment in the fourth week of April.
During his campaigning in the segment, he told the villagers that he will file the nomination paper on April 23, and sought to put to rest the speculation whether he will contest the elections from Chamundeshwari constituency.

The poll notification will be issued on April 17, and the last date to file papers is April 24.

Speaking during the campaign, he attacked JD(S) in his attempt to win from Chamundeshwari segment, saying the secular party has lost its strength.

Speaking during his fourth-day roadshow in the hinterland of Chamundeshwari constituency, he said “JD(S) has become weak in the region”. The CM held the roadshow at Jayapura hobli, where Vokkaligas are in sizeable number along with Dalits and OBCs.

Reiterating that it is his last election, the septuagenarian leader told the villagers that former CMs B S Yeddyurappa and H D Kumaraswamy are daydreaming of becoming the CM again.

Recollecting his experience in the high-voltage bypoll to Chamundeshwari in 2006, Siddaramaiah said: “I have witnessed special strategies and general strategies of Gowda which he employed during the bypolls. Let him campaign too. But people are with me.”
