Sep 15, 2017

MYSURU: Sunil Bose, the son of PWD minister H C Mahadevappa, was arraigned by a city court in a bribery case for the second time in a year. The next hearing in the 2010 graft case is on September 26.

The last time Sunil Bose was arraigned on charges of abetting an official from the department of mines and geology to take a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from complainant Basavaraj on September 7, 2016. But the minister’s son approached the high court and sought quashing of charges. He was arraigned by III Additional District and Sessions Court judge S Sudhindranath after the court felt satisfied about the evidence provided by the petitioner.

The high court, after giving a stay on the proceedings against Sunil and his associate Raju, upheld his petition in May 2017, and quashed the trial against Sunil Bose on technical grounds.
