MYSURU:Three days after BJP workers accused the organizers and the participants of a seminar on eating beef, the Kannada and culture minister has stepped in, seeking a report on the event and the subsequent row even as members of Federation of Progressive Organizations, led by corporator Purushotham, has threatened to stage a protest against people with vested interest.
Kannada and culture minister Umashree has sought a report from M S Archana, Kannada and culture director (Bengaluru), on the beef eating row following the seminar recently held in Kalamandir here. Striking a different tone from the government, Umashree has said that eating beef inside Kalamandir is in violation of rules. She also sought to know what legal action has been taken against the violators.

The letter by the minister’s special officer K B Kiran Singh cites media reports to say that an organization, being run under the grants of the department, had organized a seminar which was inaugurated by eating beef.
