JD(S) women offer prayers at Chamundi for HDK as CM

MYSURU: Women JD(S) activists led by the state unit chief Sheela Naik on Wednesday visited Chamundi Hills and offered puja at Sri Chamundeshwari templepraying to goddess Chamundeshwari to help the state unit chief H D Kumaraswamy to become the CM.

The activists checked into the site early in the morning and offered prayers at the temple. Former mayor Rajeshwari, both the city unit chief Prema Shakaregowda and district unit president Sujatha Durgesh were with the state unit president.

They extended sari and bagina to the goddess and prayed at the temple for 30 minutes.

Speaking to reporters at the Mysuru District Journalist Association, Sheela Naik said that they hope that the people in the state will support Kumarswamy in his fight against the Congress and the BJP and help him become the chief minister.

Accusing the Siddaramaiah government of corruption, she said the people of the state are fed up with the Congress government and are looking for change. The women are upset with the government as they don’t feel safe and are facing problems due to the lack of basic infrastructure, she stated.
When Kumaraswamy was the CM for 20 months, the women were extended several benefits. It has made them reorient their political strategy, she argued.

She asserted that Kumaraswamy will come clean in the illegal mining case.
