MYSURU: Nearly a week after a youth committed suicide, his father has lodged a police complaint against daughter-in-law claiming she abetted his son’s extreme step and sought police to act against her.
Police though have registered a case against her, they are suspecting veracity of the complaint.
Venkatesh Gowda, father of Mithun (34) who ended his life on May 18, lodged a complaint with Udayagiri police
against Mithun’s wife Shruthi claiming she is responsible for his drastic step. In his complaint, he has accused Shruthi of harassing Mithun for valuables and money, adding, unable to bear the torture, his son committed suicide.
An officer claimed Mithun was disturbed over problems in the family and not by any harassment by his wife based on preliminary information. He couldn’t cope with problem involving his parents and sister and her husband and thus he may have ended his life at their Vidyashankar residence in east Mysuru.
