Centre imposing BJP diktat banning cattle slaughter: Siddu
Mysuru: Centre’s ban on cattle slaughter is an attack on food culture and it is imposing BJP’s diktat on the states,” said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He indicated that Karnataka could approach the court seeking a stay on the Act.
Siddaramaiah who was in Mysuru on Wednesday to take part in various developmental programmes said, “Once the cow gets older and not fit for any work, there is nothing wrong in farmers who had purchased the cow or buffalo after giving thousands of rupees once they get old and not fit for any work. If the farmer keeps the cow with himself in this stage, it will be an additional burden on him. Hence the better option for him is to sell it. We have our own slaughter act which we are following since 1964.”
