BJP lauds Pejawar seer for hosting iftar at mutt
MYSURU: BJP activistssupported Pejawar Mutt seer for hosting an iftar at Sri Krishna Mutt by conducting a special puja at Sri Ganapathi Temple with Muslims at Agrahara here on Thursday.
Even as the seer’s move has divided opinion among pro-Hindu outfits, the activists said that they stand with the religious leader Vishwesha Tirtha Swami as it promotes communal harmony. They said that it promotes the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (which in Sanskrit means ‘the world is one family’), and secularism.
The model gesture should be emulated as it conveys the message that discrimination based on caste and religion is wrong.
The activists distributed sweets among Muslims. BJP leader Noor Fatima said that the seer, being a role model, is promoting secularism in the country. She said that they will support his cause. Former corporator Vidya Urs and Jogi Manju were present.
