26,000 students to take SSLC exams in Shivamogga

SHIVAMOGGA: The district administration has adopted strict and new measures to ensure smooth conduct of SSLC exams at 82 centres spread over six taluks of the district.

As many as 25,934 students will write the exam scheduled from March 23 till April 6. The number of girls and boys stands at 11,578 and 14,356, respectively. With 24, Shivamogga has the highest number of centres, following by Sorab (7).

According to DDPI Muchhado, the centres have not been classified as sensitive and hypersensitive, but have been fitted with CCTV cameras to avoid malpractice. Section 144 has been clamped in 200m radius around the centres. A mobile squad will also be on the prowl to check unlawful activities.

“The administration has issued identity slips of different colours to room supervisors, boys dispensing water, and other exam staff to identify persons involved in the exam duty,” he added.

KSRTC will ply buses offering free trips to the candidates to the centres. The facility is expected to benefit rural students residing in far-off places from the centres.
